ABOUT ME

LIFE IS A
JOURNEY

I’m a woman who travelled the world studying and working with my absolute passion: discovering new places, self-development and being inspired by new cultures and people I meet.

During my last year at university in Switzerland, I met my now husband. We live in Sweden and have 2 amazing kids (twins: a boy and a girl). I am originally from Brazil.

Life has been an amazing journey so far! I am extremely grateful for who I am and what I have achieved until now. This has come at a price, as it normally does, but also, with many rewards! With each obstacle, I was lucky to be able to navigate through it, learn and grow as a human being.

As a person I am an energetic over-achiever Pisces who likes to always have a plan 🙂

I managed to climb the corporate ladder in global companies and build a successful career within the tourism industry. By 37 years old, I had achieved:

  • the career goals I had set to myself when I graduated university (I was responsible for procurement, operations and destination marketing for Nordic, Russia and Baltics with around 100 employees based in 7 different locations reporting to me)
  • owning my house
  • to save over 50% of my salary while keeping a very good lifestyle
  • to hold investments that will allow me to be financially free by 50 years old
  • to have built a loving family

In early 2020, a global pandemic outbreak started, and we all had the “opportunity” to pause and reflect. That's when I started to ask myself:

  • What would I like my life to look like in the coming years?
  • Do I need more? If so, what? And what for?
  • Could I work less and still feel fulfilled? (remember, I’m an over-achiever. Doing less is difficult!)
  • What would I like to do if I had more free time? (Ex: Blog and inspire others with similar interests, create meaningful moments with my family and friends, take better care of myself)

I quickly understood that I have changed my outlook in life by my replies. I switched from a very capitalist metric for success to a more minimalist and holistic approach. The Nordic culture and the way my frugal parents raised me have contributed a lot to it.

I am not the extreme minimalist who will be able to name everything they own, item by item. I am your normal suburban family woman with a successful career and a mother of 2 very lively 8-year-old kids. I won’t preach for you to quit your job, live from a back-pack, or anything along those lines. (Spoiler: I have done these things in different stages of my life).

I believe our life is shaped by small choices and decisions we make daily. Therefore, awareness is key to take the decision that feels right for you depending on the stage you are in life.

In this blog, I try to address points that are relevant to modern families (as mine) with the perspective of essentialism and minimalism. I address topics connected to some of my concerns, thoughts, tools and tips that have helped me. I intend to do it in a holistic way covering:

  • private economy (money, debt, savings, investments, household budget)
  • family (relationships, kids development, marriage)
  • self-care (mind, body, soul)
  • home (your living space, minimalist solutions and designs)
  • travel (amazing experiences and destinations)

As life is a journey, I am sure I will evolve as time passes. I would love to use this blog as community platform for people with similar mindset to share and support each other on this beautiful journey life is.

Join the ride! 🙂
